1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") protects our customers, our network and the wider internet. It applies to every Service provided by The Clouders, and to everyone who uses those Services — including your own users and customers. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
2. Illegal and harmful content
You must not use the Services to store, transmit or distribute material that is illegal where it is hosted or accessed, including:
- child sexual abuse material — which we report to the relevant authorities;
- content that infringes copyright, trademarks or other intellectual-property rights;
- content that promotes terrorism or incites violence;
- material obtained or used in breach of privacy or data-protection law.
3. Security abuse
You must not use the Services to:
- gain or attempt unauthorised access to any system, account or network;
- scan, probe or test the vulnerability of systems you are not authorised to test;
- distribute malware, operate botnets or command-and-control infrastructure;
- host phishing pages or other content designed to deceive people into revealing information;
- launch or participate in denial-of-service attacks.
4. Network abuse
- Do not send unsolicited bulk email (spam), or host websites advertised through spam.
- Do not run open mail relays, open proxies or open resolvers that can be abused by third parties.
- Do not forge packet headers, email headers or IP source addresses.
- Do not use the Services in a way that degrades the network or other customers' services.
5. Your responsibility for your servers
You are responsible for activity originating from your servers, including activity caused by a compromised system. Keep your software updated and your servers secured — see First steps to secure a new Linux server. If you discover your server has been compromised, take it offline or contain it and tell us at support@theclouders.com.
6. Reporting abuse
To report abuse originating from our network, email support@theclouders.com with the IP address involved, the date and time (with time zone), and evidence such as log extracts or email headers. We investigate every report.
7. Enforcement
When we become aware of a breach, we may — depending on its severity — contact you to resolve it, restrict traffic, suspend the affected Service, or terminate it under our Terms of Service. Where there is an immediate risk to our network, other customers or third parties, we may act without prior notice and will tell you as soon as possible afterwards. We cooperate with law-enforcement requests as required by law.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page.
