01General
What does The Clouders provide?
Single-tenant bare-metal servers in four lines: Dedicated, Enterprise, Storage and Advanced. Each line is built for a different kind of workload.
What is a bare-metal server?
A physical server used by one customer. Its processor, memory, storage and network interface aren't shared, and there's no hypervisor between your operating system and the hardware.
How is bare metal different from a VPS or cloud instance?
A VPS or cloud instance is a virtual machine on hardware shared with other customers. Bare metal gives you the whole machine, which means more predictable performance and stronger isolation. Our guide Bare metal vs VPS vs cloud covers the trade-offs.
Who are your servers for?
Teams and businesses that need predictable performance, full control of the operating system, or more resources than shared hosting can offer — from a single application server to storage arrays and compute-heavy workloads.
02Server lines
How do the four server lines differ?
Dedicated Servers are general-purpose bare metal. Enterprise Servers prioritise reliability for mission-critical systems. Storage Servers maximise capacity per machine. Advanced Servers are specified for high-performance compute.
Which server line should I choose?
Start from the resource your workload needs most. Our guide Which server line fits your workload? walks through it, or describe your workload to sales@theclouders.com for a recommendation.
Where can I see exact specifications?
Each server line's page lists its configurations — CPU, memory, storage, network, IP allocation and location — as they're published. For anything not yet listed, contact sales.
Are the servers shared with other customers?
No. Every server line is single-tenant: one physical machine per customer.
Can I get a configuration that isn't listed?
Ask sales@theclouders.com with your requirements. If we can provide it, we'll tell you what's possible.
03Ordering & pricing
How do I order a server?
Use the order link on a published configuration where available, or email sales@theclouders.com with your requirements and we'll prepare a quote.
Where can I find pricing?
Prices are shown with each published configuration on the server line pages. For quotes on anything not listed, contact sales@theclouders.com.
What's included in the price?
Each configuration states what it includes — hardware, network port and bandwidth, and IP allocation. If anything is unclear, ask before you order.
Which payment methods and billing terms do you offer?
Payment methods and billing terms are confirmed with your quote. Email sales@theclouders.com if you need specific terms.
04Technical & access
Do I get root access?
Yes. You get full root (Linux) or administrator access to your server's operating system.
How do I connect to my server?
Linux servers are usually managed over SSH. Our guide How to connect to your server with SSH covers macOS, Linux and Windows, including key-based login.
How should I secure a new server?
Update the system, create a non-root user, switch to SSH keys, enable a firewall and protect against brute-force logins. See First steps to secure a new Linux server.
Which RAID level should I use?
It depends on how you balance capacity, redundancy and write speed. Choosing a RAID level explains each option, and the Storage Servers page has an interactive explorer.
Is RAID a backup?
No. RAID keeps a server running through a drive failure, but it can't undo deletion, corruption or ransomware. Keep separate, versioned backups — see Planning backups with the 3-2-1 rule.
05Support & account
